Not knowing I had a choice, he was put on Adderall. By the time he was in 3rd grade he was anorexic, lethargic, and withdrawn. I took him off of the Adderall at age 8. I focused on giving him more attention, structure, and discipline and we have not seen anymore behavior problems. I think that if I had enforced rules and established limits and had been more focused on him and less on my career, he would never have exhibited the behavior that was diagnosed as ADD. I strongly believe now that a child's environment is mirrored in their behavior. I'm glad I finally figured this out and saved my son from years of amphetamine consumption. I only wish the millions of children who are unnecessarily on these drugs had an advocate like my son does. Thank you for trying to educate the government, educators, and parents about the myth of ADD/ADHD.
