ONE in four Tasmanian (Tasmania) children in primary school is on drugs for
behaviour
problems, says a leading parent support group. Jennifer Culph, southern
president of parent support group ADDSUP, estimates up to 25 per cent
of primary children are on medication to treat attention deficit
hyperactivity
disorder.

Nationwide, in the US the frequency of ADHD is at about 12-13%, and yet we
are
told by "experts" in this "disease," such as Jensen, Swanson, Hyman,
Biederman,
in fact all of those at the NIMH, the Am. Psychiatric Association, and Am.

of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, that it is under-diagnosed. Are we too
headed for the 25% now fraudulently labeled and drugged in Tasmania
(Australia). They, no doubt are heading for 50%, then 100% and so are we.

will we awaken to this brazen fraud. They have perverted the meaning of
normal
childhood for one going on two generations of parent]
“One in four is the figure we’re looking at and it is growing,”
says Mrs. Culph, mother of two children who are now taking drugs for
the disorder.

The figure would make Tasmania the ADHD capital of the nation
(Australia) –
with as much as five times the standard rate of diagnosis. The worrying
statistic comes as the Tasmanian Education Department
embarks on a program to address a growing trend of unruly behaviour,
which some say is directly linked to ADHD,in classrooms statewide.

The Education Department is preparing a policy to address a growing
problem with troublesome children in Tasmanian schools. It is creating a
Behaviour Support Team which will comprise a state
co-ordinator and a specialist in each of the six state school districts.
Education Department Equity Standards director Kate Shipway said
the department did not keep statistics on the number of Tasmanian
schoolchildren diagnosed with ADHD.
Ms Shipway said statistics would not assist in policy development
because ADHD ranged across such a broad spectrum of behavioural problems.
“We’re not sure whether to count them would be helpful,” she said.
“Anecdotally I’m hearing there is an increase in Tasmania.” There is no
physical test for ADHD and it is diagnosed through a
subjective assessment which identifies a series of character traits.
Among the traits are fidgeting, excessive talking, impulsiveness
and inattention — all behaviours which some say are common to most
children.
ADHD can occur with other problems including intellectual disability,
autism, Asperger’s syndrome, co-ordination problems and learning
and language disorders.
The State Government Pharmaceutical Services Branch keeps statistics
on the number of Tasmanians prescribed drugs for the disorder.
Spokesman Craig Martin said computer systems at the branch were “down”
and the statistics were not able to be accessed.

NARCOTICS, AMPHETAMINES, ALL OF THEM DANGEROUS AND SOMETIMES DEADLY AS WELL.
In 1970 Congressional hearing on pharmacological therapy for school
problems,
just beginning, Dr John D. Griffith, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry,
Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, warned "I would like to point out
that every drug, however innocuous, has some degree of toxicity. A drug,
therefore, is a type of poison and its poisonous qualities must be carefully
weighed against its therapeutic usefulness. A problem, now being considered
in
most of the Capitols of the Free World, is whether the benefits derived from
Amphetamines outweigh their toxicity. It is the consensus of the World
Scientific Literature that the Amphetamines are of very little benefit to
mankind. They are, however, quite toxic.
after many years of clinical
trials
it is now evident that this antidepressant effect of Amphetamines is very
brief-
on the order of days. If a patient attempts to overcome this tolerance to
the
drug, he runs the risk of becoming addicted and even more depressed."
At the same time, On October 12, 1970, Congressman, Cornelius Gallagher
wrote
to HEW Secretary, Elliott Richardson: "I have received letters highly
critical
of the focus of the medical side of minimal brain dysfunction (the term for
ADD/ADHD at the time), which is, incidentally, one of at least thirty-eight
names attached to this condition
Such a high incidence in the population--as
high as thirty percent in ghetto areas
may not be pathological at all
"
Never forget, in 1948, 'neuropsychiatry' was divided into neurology,
dealing
with organic diseases of the brain, and psychiatry, dealing with
psychological
conditions in normal human beings [4]. Psychiatrists never diagnose or
treat
actual disease. Telling you that they do and drugging you or your child,
they
violate your right to “informed consent,” deceive, defraud and physically
assault you or your childfor profit.]
