Dr. Baughman, I don’t dismiss your claims, a priori, that ADHD is not really a disease. However, why is it that there is virtually no public debate on the topic? Do the pharmaceutical companies really exert such an overwhelming influence?

My daughter, age 10, has only yesterday begun “therapy” with Concerta 18 mg. She was diagnosed this week by her pediatrician. This diagnosis was based on a questionairre that both I and her 4th grade teacher filled out. I’ve read some of your writing, and I am concerned I’m doing the right thing for my daughter.
